‘Plan, execute & report on work in a single live platform’: aka Smartsheet. Collaborate & automate time consuming tasks to improve productivity. Then reinvest that time with these efficiency savings into growing your business. Sounds like an idea? Let’s take a look at what they have to offer:

• Easy & flexible to use interfaces, which are fully mobile device compatible
• Integrations with many popular applications to create a seamless workflow
• Dedicated & continual support, anytime you need it

Nevertheless, it pains me to say that Smartsheet isn’t immune to problems, including:

• Firstly, although their site is lightweight, it appears over-simplified, as I’m unable to find that much regarding feature wise details
• It’s costly to use, especially when compared to competitors
• Lack of time tracking feature (although this can be addressed with 3rd party app integrations)
• No activity stream (only has a view feature on the sheet itself)
• Limited calendar view: the full schedule is simply not visible in its entirety
• Finicky compatibility with various Excel formats: this is just counterintuitive, right?!

Although the volume of ‘concern’ appears to outweigh the advantages of Smartsheet, it still needs to be said that this does offer some really useful functionality. If only the price was more competitive & more user ergonomics were present, this would be a winning solution.
